On October 31st Inspire will celebrate its 5th anniversary of opening the doors to the community.  On Saturday the volunteers came up with many different ideas on how we could mark the occasion.  Watch this space-or if you have ideas of your own please come in and let us know.
Do you have photos of activities you have attended at Inspire, stories of what you have enjoyed doing at Inspire, has Inspire inspired you in some way??  Let us know.
It has been a busy week at Inspire, not just in front of the scenes but behind the scenes too.
One of our volunteers has been offered a job by a local businessman based on the experience she has gained here as a volunteer.
Another volunteer has started an apprentice role on our reception in the last couple of weeks.  Starting out as a volunteer has given her the confidence and experience to excel at interview.  An apprenticeship will give her a years work experience and a qualification in business and administration.
Our volunteers play a key role in helping Inspire run smoothly.  You may see them serving you a coffee in the cafe but equally you may not see them as they may be in the back of the kitchen preparing your meal.
Oscar from Colombia has been volunteering in our cafe for the past few months.  Back in Colombia he is a film producer.  Alongside a couple of friends he is now helping us to make a promotional video which will help us tell the story of Inspire to a wider audience.
On Saturday we will be holding our termly volunteer celebration. ¬†This is an opportunity for our volunteers to meet up with each other, to tell staff what’s gong well and what they would like to see happen in the future. ¬†It is an opportunity for people to volunteer their skills and for us to reward those who have made significant contributions in their volunteering. ¬†Tomorrow Isaac will be getting a certificate to honour the more than 100 hours of volunteering her has done for us over the last few months.
A busy week?-no just a normal life enhancing and transforming week in the life of Inspire!
